How is singing for girls? Ok girls like singing but I didn’t think singing was a girly boring thing. I quite liked singing at school.
I’m talking about the 2nd series of The Choir on bb2, where Gareth Malone (cute musician, singer and choirmaster extrordinaire) takes over an all boys school in Lancaster and tries to get them to actually sing. It’s so surprising how many people found it funny that someone would stand up and sing in front of people. These people just don’t ever sing.
Ok I didn’t sing after primary school but I was never given the chance. When I was still at my old secondary school, the music department was terrible and there were never any choirs and the only thing we ever did in music lessons was play stuff on a keyboard.
I’m so glad Gareth is getting this singing thing back into schools. All these school kids seem to quite happily rap (which I would definitely find embarssing) in front of their friends but think singing is just not on.
Looking forward to next part same time next week.
is one of the things I did today. Day off today.. well ok I shouldn’t call it off – just no lectures. I should really be doing work or notes or getting on with dissertation but didn’t feel like it.
Did a bit of washing – clothes and dishes – this morning. When it stopped raining, I walked down to the hoe and round the seafront. It was lovely when the sun was out. It did almost start raining a few times and there was a lovely rainbow as I was walking back down. Felt rather well exercised when I got back to the house.
Been chillin a bit this evening. Just caught up on first episode of series 2 of Kingdom. Addicted to that show, I can’t believe I didn’t realise it had started again but I suppose only got to wait till sunday for next episode.
Torchwood starts tonight!!! – can’t wait for that although it’s sort of the opposite end of the scale to Kingdom.
That was a bit of a boring blog… I’m trying to keep to blogging regularly just to update but maybe I need to work on writing more interesting entries. I’ll have a think.
Ok 2nd day of the year – nothing spectacular has happened yet.
Me and mum took down the tree and xmas decs this morning. The house looks so empty suddenly. All tidied and not cards on every surface makes it look a bit minimalistic in here.
I’m sticking to my new year’s resolution of blogging more…. so… what else shall I write?
Ok new year’s eve – well went to The Assembly in Bemmie. Fairly normal pub night but they had a live guy playing a guitar to many poppy type dire straits/pink floyd/bryan adamsy type music. He was rather good, excellent guitar player – on some queen numbers he was almost as good as the master himself Brian May. Saw in the new year with some streamers and lovely party hooters most of which didnt work properly.
It was nice to be out for a bit really. It’s mad going into town or anywhere near the centre cus it would be so expensive to get in pretty much everywhere. My parents went to some friends house and so me sis took over ours so I wouldn’t have wanted to be here anyway.
Ok – new year’s day. Well parents were a bit tired and hungover, I was perfectly fine. I wasn’t that drunk in the evening anyway. We had breakfast and then went for a short walk down through the cemetery down to dad’s workshop. I took some pictures in the cemetery and of the many birds outside the warehouse.
Walked back up the road, sat down and watched Singin In The Rain, followed by Mary Poppins, followed by the end of Finding Neverland.
Later we watched Three Men in Another Boat – very amusing. As funny as the first one but I didn’t seem to get that feeling of jealousy with this one. I wouldn’t want to be in a boat with three cynical men, two of which can’t sail very well. Looking forward to the second part tonight tho. And Jam and Jerusalem – great telly
Going back to Plym on friday. I’m getting the train back cus mum’s car is a bit unpredictable at the moment. It’s ok on short journeys but several times on a long journey it cuts out and won’t start again for a while. And Plymouth and back is a fairly long journey.
